How to Use Matrix Builder
Matrix Builder collects all creative copy and image assets for a campaign email and exports two tab-delimited files ready for DE import. Work through the three tabs in order.
Step 1 — Campaign Config
Start here for every email. Fill in the Campaign ID and Campaign Name first — the Campaign ID is used to name your export files and is automatically applied to all vehicle modules.
Subject line & preheader Write these as a pair. The subject line hooks the reader; the preheader delivers a second reason to open. They should not repeat the same words.
Hero images Enter the final image URLs when available. If images are not ready, check the TBD box — a correctly-sized placeholder image from placehold.co will export in its place so the email renders in DE review.
Intro copy The intro headline and body intro appear below the hero image and set up the vehicle offers that follow.
Legal copy Enter the footer disclaimer text. Coordinate with the legal team before submitting. Leave blank if ops manages this field.
Step 2 — Vehicle Modules
Add a module for each vehicle or content block. Click “+ Add module” to create a new row. Each module maps to one zone in the email.
Layout types Featured — brand awareness, no pricing.
Full-Width — single vehicle with lease or finance offer block.
Two-Column — two vehicles side by side. Add two modules and set them to the same Module Group. Alternate Image Side between left and right.
Adhoc — editorial content, events, announcements. Image is optional.
Zone codes Each module must have a unique zone (z1–z10). Zones already in use are marked and cannot be selected again. Sort Order controls the vertical position of modules in the email.
TBD fields Check the TBD box on any field where content is not yet available. On export, image fields get a correctly-sized placehold.co URL; all other fields get a tagged placeholder with lorem ipsum so the email renders as a readable draft.
Offer figures Lease amount, term, due at signing, finance rate, and finance term fields accept numbers only — the email template adds the $, %, and /mo formatting automatically. Disclaimer ref numbers must be confirmed with the legal team.
Step 3 — Preview & Export
Review before exporting. The Preview tab shows a thumbnail rendering of the campaign hero block and all vehicle modules. TBD fields show placeholder images and tagged copy so you can see exactly what the DE import will contain.
Draft vs Final export If any fields are still marked TBD the export buttons show amber and label the files as Draft. When all TBD fields are resolved the buttons turn green and label the files as Final.
Two export files {CampaignID}_CampaignConfig.txt — one row containing all campaign-level fields.

{CampaignID}_VehicleOffers.txt — one row per vehicle module, all modules in sort order.

Both files are tab-delimited with column headers matching the DE field names exactly. Send both files to the DE ops team for import.
Ops-owned fields Some fields (CampaignID assignment on vehicle rows, IsActive, aliases, sending DE name) are managed by the ops team and will be blank in your export. Do not add values for these fields.
Help tips & field guidance
Every field has a ? help button next to the label. Click it to see the field description, character limit, whether it is required or optional, image spec where applicable, and an example value. Click anywhere outside the tip to close it.
✨ AI Inbox — Inbox Recommendations
The AI Inbox panel uses Claude AI to analyze your campaign and vehicle content and generate optimized inbox strategies for three email client scenarios. Click the ✨ AI Inbox button in the top bar to open the panel.
📧 Universal
Works acceptably across all email clients. Use as the safe default when client-specific optimization is not required. Recommendations balance brand clarity with offer visibility.
 Apple Mail
Optimized for Mail Privacy Protection (MPP). Since open tracking is unreliable, recommendations focus on brand trust, clarity, and engagement quality rather than open-rate optimization. Alt text is written as a headline replacement since images frequently do not load on first render. Tap-optimized CTA labels.
📬 Gmail
Optimized for the Gmail Promotions tab. Subject lines are offer-forward and emoji-aware. Preheader is critical for the promotions tab preview strip. Body copy is shorter and skimmable. Gmail Annotation recommendations (offer text, badge, expiry) are generated when offer figures are present in the form.

How to apply recommendations
↳ Use this Applies a single field recommendation directly to the form. The field updates immediately and any TBD flag is cleared.
✓✓ Accept All Applies all recommendations for that client section in one click. Overwrites all current values for those fields. The last client you Accept All on wins — only one client set can be active at a time.
↻ Regenerate Generates a fresh set of recommendations without losing any values already entered in the form. Each regeneration uses approximately 500–800 additional API tokens.
Context awareness — The AI panel reads whatever is currently entered in the form. The more fields you have filled in before generating, the more tailored the recommendations. If you are on the Vehicle Modules tab, the panel reads the active module's content. Switch tabs to get campaign-level or module-level recommendations independently.
Character limits
The character counter next to each field turns amber when you are within 15% of the limit and red when you exceed it. Exports will still include over-limit text — the counter is a warning, not a hard block. Trim copy before submitting final files.

⚠ Old vs New Template Image Dimensions
The dimensions used in the previous template are not compatible with the new template. Do not repurpose existing assets at the old sizes. All assets must be supplied at 2x retina resolution using the new dimensions below.

Why 2x? The new template is built for retina displays. The source file is supplied at double the rendered size so it displays crisp on high-DPI screens. A 1200x400 px file renders at 600x200 px in the email.
